How HFS Protects Your Home
A 5-step automated defense sequence — from satellite detection to continuous suppression.
Step 1
Detect
NASA FIRMS satellite API detects wildfire hotspots with under 60-second latency for the continental US. NOAA Red Flag Warnings provide 12–24 hour advance notice.
Step 2
Alert
Automated SMS and push alerts notify homeowners when fire is detected within 7 miles (Level 1) or 2 miles (Level 2). Local thermal sensors serve as a fail-safe backstop.
Step 3
Activate
Solenoid valves open automatically based on threat level. The system activates zone-by-zone, prioritizing the most exposed areas first using the 2HP backup pump.
Step 4
Suppress
Four defense zones deploy simultaneously at 48 GPM total: roof rotors, eave sprayers, Class-A foam applicators, and perimeter sprinklers — all validated in EPANET simulation.
Step 5
Survive
All 4 zones pass hydraulic simulation at both 60 PSI (backup tank) and 100 PSI (mains). The system sustains 12 hours of continuous operation with a 10,000-gallon backup supply.

Impact-style rotary sprinklers mounted at roof peaks provide continuous wetting of the entire roof surface. The roof is the largest ember-collection surface and the highest-priority zone.
Why this matters
Embers landing on dry roofing material are the #1 cause of home ignition during wildfires. Keeping the roof wet eliminates this ignition pathway entirely.
